Has it ever crossed your mind on how L’Occitane’s soaps differ?
I’m referring to L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap – Lavender, Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap – Verbena, and Shea Milk Sensitive Skin Extra Rich Soap. We all love them! But have you ever thought through how each one serves your daily skin needs? Before we go any further into that, I’ve been a lover of L’Occitane’s products and I believe that it’s time to go back to the basics and see the perfection of these gentle and natural French soaps.

Yes! if you didn’t know, L’Occitane en Provence, is a French luxury retailer of body, face, hair and home products, as well as fragrances.
L’Occitane has been a favorite brand admired by many because of its naturally sourced ingredients, and skin loving goodness that doesn’t only love you as a consumer but goes back to loving the earth.
You wouldn’t go wrong in buying any product from L’Occitane, but one thing that I had always been unconsciously curious about are their soaps. And wait! As you are reading this, you’re up for something exciting because I will be giving a review as well on L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream towards the end of this blog.
Now let me tell you about my experience of using L’Occitane’s Shea Butter soaps:
L’Occitane Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap – Verbena

L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap – Verbena has a light energizing scent which comes from the verbena leaf extracts known for its refreshing fragrance. This soap gives just the right amount of foaminess and silky texture that amazes me. It’s somewhat lotion-like texture gives me the confidence that it will soothe and moisturize my skin, not just cleanse it. For the record, when I say lotion-like, it’s not sticky. The shea butter goodness mixes in, giving an outlasting perfection to tighter skin.
L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap – Lavender

Just by smelling its lavender scent with eyes closed, takes my memory into a field of lavenders. Moreso when I lather it into my skin. I would describe this soap to have the same amount of foaminess and silky lotion-like texture like that of the Shea Butter Verbena that assures me. Its light lavender scent is a finesse choice if you prefer a more flowery scent instead of an energizing one like Verbena. An after-bath scent of light lavenders will fill your senses and give you that trusting feeling that this soap isn’t going to fail your skin in any way. Its lavender scent is addicting where you would find yourself picking up this soap for no reason and just smelling its delicate sweetness.
L’Occitane’s Shea Milk Sensitive Skin Extra Rich Soap.

We had two extra-gentle soaps for a start, now let’s discover our third and last soap which is the Shea Milk Sensitive Skin Extra Rich Soap. The scent makes me imagine a milk-infused soapy goodness packed with a luscious shea butter scent. Upon use, this soap has a slightly different texture than the first two. Its softer, foamy, a bit silky, but more on slick on the skin. Its not slippery on the hands though if that is what you’re wondering. At first, when I read that it’s an extra rich soap, what came to mind is that this one is going to be extra creamy and heavy on the skin but I was wrong. Personally, I feel that this soap is more much enriched with Shea Butter based from its scent.
I love that I can trust L’Occitane with their soaps. These natural French soaps are crafted with organic extracts from Provence with 95% readily biodegradable ingredients. I like the silkiness of these three soaps where you can feel it’s filled with real shea butter. After use, it locks in moisture for the skin that’s excellent for firm, tighter skin.

In the beginning, I was user who didn’t know that their products didn’t contain any harmful chemicals. I guess you just know it as a customer at first glance. You see the message of the brand and its products stand out on its own. And when I became a user, I just know that its good for me without even going through to bother reading its contents. All I know is that these French soaps take us back and into worthwhile old traditions and customs that’s just interesting to this generation. It’s not just about remembering how soap-making was done back in the old days but it meets us where we are in the present.
Which one is your personal favorite L’Occitane soap?

I know you’re waiting and I’m going to talk to you about it right now!
More Shea Butter coming up!
Now, let’s talk about a quick solution for dry skin.

I could not expound how much I love L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream. Its a deluxe and satisfying retreat for your hands. I’ve been a lover of hand creams knowing that our hands deserve the best care they can get just like how we pamper our faces and follow a strict beauty regimen. Most people either neglect the need of what it means to use separate hand lotions or they just haven’t fully come to the conclusion yet as to why these separate skin care products exist alongside with body lotions. Well yes, body lotions, do help with moisture but having a more intense skin solution for the part of your body that does a lot of hard lifting for you, why not? I mean literally, just think about it. L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream is crafted with the finest products where your hands will scream for more! More of the loving goodness of shea butter please!
So, what makes L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream a skin saver for your hands?
It is enriched with 20% Shea Butter, 95% natural ingredients giving the confidence that this crowd-pleasing hand cream saves dry skin and is suitable to sensitive ones.

That first oozing touch on the palm of my hands reveals a moisture that naturally different. Its light, non-sticky formula gives one an astounding after-thought for me that this hand cream is something. After first use, lines would disappear on the palm of my hands while the back of my hands instantly became smoother, whiter, fairer. With continuous use I think your skin, will get better and better. I read in L’Occitane’s website that 97% found that their skin was immediately soothed after 1 application. I was right! I can attest to that because of what I experienced.

And I guess shells could tell us the difference too!
There’s just something about L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream that delivers what it says. So, wherever I am now, whether I’m on the road for a trip or I’m just simply typing my way at work I always bring with me L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream and I know that it will serve its promise of reviving my tired hands.

Whether its Work From Home or Work From Anywhere, like at my favorite coffee shop, my hands receive the same care I give to my face too.
Hand creams/lotions are my go-to thing, especially when I learned a few years back that I have CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). The excruciating pain has led me to learn how to care for my hands and wrists more than usual. I’m a writer by day and a crafter at night, so my hands are prone to a lot of long hours of work. When I started caring for my hands more, like massaging hand creams and lotions, the pain that I’ve been experiencing with CTS just faded away to the point that I even forgot that I have one! I gently massage my hands and fingers one by one by focusing my attention only on my hands and wrist and nothing else, giving it the care and the touch it needs. You can also read more about how hand salves is a life-saver for me in one of my previous blogs.

Sealed for your protection, accidental leakage, trust, and of course excitement to skin-loving goodness!

And there we go, pop!
After using any L’Occitane soaps top off your hands with L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream for an extra rich moisture. I’ve been a lover of shea butter ever since the news broke out and I have never recovered since then. Too bad.
Not only do L’Occitane’s products care for your skin care needs but they go beyond in adding braille to most of their product packaging to make it accessible to those with a visual impairment. Check out this side of the soap’s packaging.

Pretty cool, right? Next time before you throw away their packaging, you know what to do!

Not only do they care for sight but they also empower women and respect biodiversity through their L’Occitane Foundation. Now who wouldn’t want to support skincare like this!
There you have it!
