Say Saranghae with Aegyo Café: A Whimsical Review on Aegyo’s Matcha and Choco Bonbon Cake

Posted on March 25, 2025 by Nini Dizon

Looking for a cake that’s Soo-hyun…?

I mean sooo you?!

Seems like my being is still pretty wired from watching another K-drama that I finished watching around two weeks ago! Well, I guess getting over isn’t that easy but I want you to meet something as sweet as K-drama for this blog post.

I am a girl who loves K-drama, matcha, sweets, and all the cute things. When that’s rolled into one, you get a visit to one of the most trending cafés in the metro. And that is Aegyo Café!

And since I love all things matcha I went on a hunt for my next matcha adventure at Aegyo Café.

Aegyo Café is a Korean-themed coffee shop located at 18 Sct. Rallos St, Diliman, Quezon City where you’ll fantasize their cute minimalist cakes. Once you enter, I assure you that you won’t leave the place empty-handed because this café is rad. Rad in a sense where you’ll feel like you’re in Korea because of the vibes.

At first sight of their cakes, I immediately ordered their matcha cake and paired it with of course, you know the answer to that—a matcha drink! Then I also ordered a slice of Teddy Bear Choco Bonbon cake because it looks super cute, and I love teddy bears! There are actually so many designs and flavors to choose from but I settled with the Teddy Bear Choco Bonbon cake because I might end up buying the entire store!

As I waited for my take-out order, (Yes! Too bad I couldn’t stay for too long at the cafe for dine in and needed to come home earlier that I expected.) I walked around the café and I was amazed that it may be filled by a lot of customers but I like that they were still able to maintain their cozy ambiance. With fresh aesthetic interiors and calming vibes makes it a go to place for people of all generations. It’s also cool that they have a separate room for take-out orders which was where I placed my order. Its admirable that Aegyo has kept the Korean essence alive of having a secluded coffee shop when you want to have some down time away from the city, this is where you go. But where in fact the interesting part is their location is actually pretty accessible and not really away from the city. They have parking spaces too. It’s a hidden escape that’s unblemished, filling every customer with a dose of feel-good cuteness.

Quick trivia: Before Aegyo Café existed, it started with Aegyo cakes!

Now, my order is ready!

As soon as I got home, I opened these treats. I love the matcha cake because of its promising finishings on the edges and the moistness. Not too sweet, not too strong in matcha taste. For the matcha drink. I love how durable their drink containers are! I would say that the matcha drink was perfectly blended. If you are a matcha lover who wants their matcha light and a bit milky, this is how I would define their drink.

Well, looks like these matcha’s passed the test!

Let’s go to the Teddy Bear Choco Bonbon. It makes me feel super mushy just looking at it!

The bear is too cute to eat! But I had no choice!

I like its light, creamy, and chocolatey taste that’s not too sweet. Its alternate layers of bread and chocolate envelopes on my tongue which was delightful. The icing is not too thick which I also admire.

Aegyo Café doesn’t only offer cakes, coffee, and matcha but they also have Korean meals!

I think their products are affordable, unique, and irresistible. You can also design your own Aegyo Cakes too! So that you can make it sooo youuu!

Not only will you say saranghae with their delicious sweets but for sure you wouldn’t go home without buying a slice of cake.

Whether there is a special occasion or you just want to give yourself some me-time, one would definitely have this urge to buy their cute cakes because of its delightful appeal and expressive but minimalistic approach.

Aegyo Cakes and Aegyo Café’s magnificent creations fills the gap we need in providing cakes that brings out the customers personalities from within.

Aegyo Cakes has brought something unique and eye-catching to the table. From artistic impressions to excellent quality cakes and desserts. For sure, meeting the desires of its consumers is easy.

There you have it!

I hope to visit them again soon and this time order the entire menu so that I can give you more future product reviews!
