My Messy Bessy product review

Posted on April 22, 2022April 27, 2022 by Nini Dizon

Hey there! On this blog I’ll be sharing about my experience using Messy Bessy products. I bought cleaning materials from them online. I bought a Minty Orange Surface Cleaner, Eucalyptus All-Purpose Scrub, and a Dish Cleaner Aloe Green Tea.

The very first time I heard about Messy Bessy was way back when there was still no pandemic and I received it as a Christmas present from my workmate. I received two bottles. One is a small desk and workspace cleaner and another is an aroma disinfectant spray. I love everything that is related to skincare, cleaning, and most of all I love supporting Philippine made products and businesses. When I read the label of Messy Bessy, I love that each product that you buy helps their partner foundation, HOUSE (Helping Ourselves Through Sustainable Enterprises).

They help rehabilitate at-risk and disadvantaged young adults through a working student program. They also have therapy sessions and more which they indicated on the side of each bottle that you would buy. It makes me smile that even if their products are a bit pricey it goes a long way. What I also like about Messy Bessy is the quality of their products. At first, I always thought that they are an international brand because of the somewhat pop and retro graphic design and impressive packaging of their products. I haven’t tried all of their products yet but maybe soon I’ll write a blog about it again and let you know how it works for me.

Now, let’s go to their products that I purchased. For the Minty Orange Surface Cleaner if you’re wondering if the orange scent is too strong, it’s not. Scent has always been my concern when it comes to cleaning materials and fresheners. I know a lot of you can agree with me. The surface cleaner works gently on any surface and leaves a gentle orange scent. I mostly used it on my desk. I’ve been working from home for the past six years now so it has always been handy for me for instant cleaning and I thought why not I buy a bigger size this time so that I have more supply and use it on other surfaces as well.

Since we are still in a pandemic, I still stay indoors most of the time. I like that it dries quickly and smells fresh afterwards. I don’t only use it on my workspace now but I also use it when I’m cleaning my room, cleaning our garden bench or I just simply spray some on a rug to gently clean the stuff that I need to. I like that as I work, I can smell its orangy-scent. It reminds me of their good packaging and eco-friendly practice where you can bring your empty bottles and they can refill it for you. What a great way of saving mother earth. I like supporting local businesses in any way I can because I believe in their mission. If you want to purchase their spray bottle its worth Php 295 for 500ml and Php 520 for 2L.

What do you look for in a Dishwashing Liquid? I am mainly after its quality which leads us to the next product which is Messy Bessy’s Dish Cleaner Aloe Green Tea. I like trying new things and this is one. In our household we are a family of four and yet there are always many dishes to wash. I decided to buy the liquid dishwashing soap to test its quality and if its gentle to the hands. One thing that also took my attention here is the scent. Its scent is aloe vera and green tea. Two of the stuff that I love! I love aloe vera as a drink, skin care, and hair care product. It’s just so refreshing! If you’ve been following my blogs, I love green tea and I’ll do everything I can to buy one even if it’s expensive.

So, imagine combining two of my favorites in one that made me want to buy it more. In the instructions it says that it doesn’t work like other liquid dishwashing soaps where we mix it together with water and it becomes bubbly. You have to put it on a sponge and start scrubbing it on the plates and utensils. The moment of truth came when I was about to wash some dishes. I decided to mix it with water. In my mind it’s not going to bubble just like what was said but to my amazement it has plenty of bubbles! I tried it first with little water and just the right amount of soap and it worked fine for me. I started scrubbing on our plates and utensils and it turned out to be great. It has thicker bubbles unlike other dishwashing liquid soaps and it easily rinses off.

Of course, let’s not forget the scent! I found myself smiling as I washed the dishes and utensils because I can smell aloe vera and green tea in one. The scent might be stingy for others but I love it. It gives me the impression that the product is of high quality. I also like that the dishwashing liquid doesn’t seem to have harmful chemicals that may hurt my skin. It doesn’t dry the skin and the light color of its mixture assures that it’s all natural. Also, on my first use I noticed that the utensils that I washed looked shinier.

At first I thought maybe I was just overreacting but after I was done washing the dishes I started wiping them one by one and putting them on their respective cabinets. I stared at the utensils and it does seem shiny! I’m glad that it does. Lastly, I admire their sturdy pump container and the material of the label that seems to be waterproof. I’ve been using it for quite a while now and oftentimes it gets soaked with either water or soap but surprisingly the label doesn’t peel off. If you want to test it for yourself their pump bottle costs Php 195 for 500ml and Php 575 for 2L.

If you’re looking for a surface cleaner that’s tough on stains but doesn’t have a tough scent then let me introduce you to Messy Bessy’s Eucalyptus All-Purpose Scrub. According to the label it says that it can be used on wood and on different surfaces. I haven’t tried it on wood but I used it to clean my bathroom. I felt so excited when I was about to clean my bathroom because aside from being a fan of aloe vera and green tea, I also like eucalyptus. I guess you have noticed by now that I love everything that’s made from natural ingredients. It comes on a huge round container and upon opening you’ll be welcomed by a powdery texture and a minty scent. It has a strong calming scent where its like sweet ice is blown unto my face.

When I opened it doesn’t have a strong eucalyptus scent as expected but it still smelled like eucalyptus especially when I started scrubbing it on the floors, the sink, etc. It’s cool scent leaves you wandering as you go through your thoughts and as you clean all the way. Now cleaning the bathroom doesn’t have to be a burden but a mindful and enjoyable task. Once I’ve tried it on wood, I’ll let you know how it works. The 750g size of the container is worth its price of Php300 while 1500g is at Php 495.

There you have it, that’s my Messy Bessy experience. What Messy Bessy products have you tried and what do you recommended? Share it with me in the comments below!
